It's been a while since I last posted a message, but I thought this might be of some relevance. I see Arnold Clark in Aberdeen have lost the franchise to sell Volvos. After some digging I was told by Arnold Clark (Aberdeen)themselves, they chose to give up the franchise as it wasn't worth them paying Volvo due to poor second hand sales. I presume this is across the whole Arnold Clark network in the UK, and not just here in Aberdeen. No wonder they've been trying the hard sell on me for an S80 these last few months. Anyway this leaves us in NE Scotland with no recognised Volvo dealer for a very long time. My dad purchased his first Volvo (an Amazon) in 1966, and I've continued the trend. It's a sad day, but I'm not sure if I'll mourn the passing of Arnold Clark as a Volvo main dealer though, in Aberdeen at any rate.

It may be a bit of a trek for you but the outlet in Inverness is worth a visit - or at least I think it is. I am now down in the Borders but still go back there for any major works. It is another of Arnold's empire but still has the same staff (mainly) since before he took over. By the way, folks, will you be joining us on the 26th at Pitlochry (see meetings/events section)?

Although you have a trek to a main agent pray hard that mill garages north east don't replace them in your area I've had a succession of poor repairs huge bills and gereral lousy customer care so bad in fact that despite my car being over 9 years old volvo head office got involved and hey presto they suddenly found that the abs sensor was faulty after they had replaced the wheel bearing (it was fine before it went to them) and under duress they sort of fixed it
