001 6.4 upgrade

I just purchased the 6.4 upgrade for XP. I tried to download the files from the secure site that Digidesign provides, but when the file is saved to the desktop or run....it produces a file type that can not be recognized. I have tried to open the file with Winzip, online help that is recommended for identifying the appropriate program and a host of other options. I know that the CD will be arriving within 3-4 business days, but if I can take advantage of the download I would like to. And at this point I am totally uncertain about how to access this file...What bites? B.

Is there any extension to the download? It should be a .zip file. You have a zip program? Are you using a downloader?

I can not find the file extension in the properties menu. As far as zip programs, I am currently running WinZip. By downloader what exactly are you referring to?
