V70 Electric seats remote operation

Hi All, New to both the forum and Volvo's,, Looking for a little advice. I have a 56 plate V70 with electric seats. I have noticed the some times when i unlock the car that the seat moves. I assume this is meant to happen to aid driver entry, how do i do it? I cant seem to find the operation in the hand book or make the operation happen. Please help as its now driving me mad tryin to work it out. Many Thanks, Chris.

Hi Chris, I to had this same problem and like you thought it was to aid access in & out, the way this works is the seat remembers its postion when you lock the car with the remote control however if you unlock the car with your other control unit it will postion the seat to the last known postion when locked with the second remote. I think it is known as his and hers setting so if you use a remote and your partner uses the other remote it will set the seats to each indivdual remote user . If you set your seat to any postion then lock the vehicle with a remote then use your second remote to unlock the vehicle you should see the seat move, and vice versa. It is a good idea if you have two drivers with different seating postions but it is not that difficult to use the memory buttons on the seat. sorry my answer is a bit long winded but give it a try and see what happens, good luck Dunc.

Also the mirrors will move so that may explain the mystery of the mirrors needing adjustment :-)
