AGH thats great! I have taken a lot of that on board but I still feel I need someone to clarify - if I have a session loaded with differnt file specs: 16/24bit 41/48sample - can I just drag em in and let it be, or must I be dithering them in there own sessions first!?

Really only use dither when going to a lower bit rate.
