Sun Exposure And Cherry Angiomas

I've noticed my cherry angiomas seem to get darker and more prominent when I'm in the sun. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if sun exposure makes them worse or if it's just making them more visible against my skin. Should I be taking any special precautions with sun protection when it comes to these things?

Sun exposure doesn't necessarily make the angiomas themselves worse, but it can make them more noticeable. When your surrounding skin tans, the contrast between the red angiomas and your skin tone becomes more pronounced. That said, sun protection is always important for overall skin health, regardless of whether you have cherry angiomas. Using good quality sunscreen can help prevent other skin issues and may reduce the visual prominence of the angiomas by preventing the surrounding skin from getting darker. If the increased visibility in summer is bothering you, that might be motivation to look into removal options.

The sun thing is real - I definitely noticed mine standing out more during summer months when I had them. Beyond just the visual aspect, protecting your skin is especially important after any removal procedure. I had several cherry angiomas removed and the aftercare instructions were very specific about avoiding sun exposure on the treated areas during healing. I actually decided to get mine removed before summer specifically so I could enjoy beach time without feeling self-conscious. The whole process went really smoothly and now I don't have to worry about them being more visible in the sun. I found this really comprehensive resource about the removal process: https://bellasanamedspa.com/blog/angioma-removal-safe-and-effective-removal - it covers everything including aftercare and sun protection. If the summer visibility is bothering you, removal might be worth considering.
